We strive to make a favorable impact on any patient who walks through our door, whether for Chiropractic Care, Massage Therapy, Corrective Exercises, or Acupuncture. Below is a quick view to what we do here at Eastside Chiropractic Services, P.S.
We provide advanced spinal correction utilizing "state of the art" chiropractic techniques. Never in the history of chiropractic have we been able to provide the level of help and expertise that now exists. These newer correction methods are even safer, more comfortable and more effective than ever before. As a Doctor of Chiropractic, Dr. Murray Smith, Dr. Brent Manley, and Dr. Nathan Floding have years of training and experience in spinal adjustment.
We teach our patients special "blueprint" exercises to help strengthen and correct their own unique problem. These exercises can be performed in the comfort of your own home and can improve the effectiveness of your spinal correction. In addition to skeletal misalignment, muscles and connective tissues can be out of place or strained by improper alignment and use. Specific exercises and stretches can help your body stay in balance and in health.
Acupuncture is a specialized medical practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The practice of acupuncture involves the insertion of fine sterilized needles into the skin, tissues, and muscles at various locations on the body called acupuncture points. Over the past 2,500 years, acupuncture has be used to treat various health conditions and diseases. With the acupuncture, she can also get some muscle relief with cupping and Gua Sha.
Massage therapy offers a natural conservative treatment approach that relieves musculoskeletal pain for many patients. Our office provides specific massage and muscular therapy that is tailored to meet the patient's condition and injury. The benefits of massage therapy may include increasing blood circulation, reducing swelling, relaxing muscles, relieving muscle pain and spasms, and aid in recovery and range of motion.
Cupping therapy is an ancient medicinal therapy that has been utilized across many cultures for thousands of years. The use of heat or suction is applied to a glass or plastic cup and is placed on the skin to creative a negatively pressured vacuum. While cupping therapy greatly sedates the nervous system, it’s proven effective for many other ailments.
This form of manual therapy relieves acute & chronic pain, anxiety & stress, promotes blood & lymph circulation, increases flexibility & range of motion, and is used to supplement detoxification. Cupping is also beneficial for the lungs, which can clear congestion from the common cold or to help control a person’s asthma. Cupping therapy does not have any serious side effects, but is not suitable for those with certain medical conditions.
Gua Sha is an East Asian manual therapy that's used to treat a range of illnesses and disorders, but is most popular for the treatment of musculoskeletal pain and breakdown of scar tissue. Gua Sha aims to promote the movement of stagnant energy around the body and results in pain relief and improved musculoskeletal function. Gua Sha can also benefit the immune system, reduce inflammation, treat a cold or fever, and problems with the lungs.
The term Gua Sha comes from the Chinese word for scraping. Traditionally, a coin or porcelain spoon was used to scrape the skin, but in modern practice we use a small hand-held tool with rounded edges. Gua Sha is also referred to as skin scraping, spooning, or coining. This action causes light bruising, which often appears as red or purple spots on the skin known as petechiae or sha. The treatment does not have any serious side effects, but is not suitable for those with certain medical conditions.
