Fruit and Veggie Kabobs
It's that time of year when fresh, local fruits and vegetables are available in abundance.
High in fiber and low in calories, fruits and vegetables should make up half of your plate at every meal.
Whether they come from local farms, the farmers market or our very own garden, we can make fruits and vegetables the focus of all our summer meals.
For all of your summer celebrations try this snack/appetizer idea that every body will love.
(Kids love to help make these)
1. Use wooden skewers and a variety of colorful fruits like strawberries, melons, bananas, grapes and pineapple, and veggies like cherry tomatoes, bell peppers, cucumbers, to create beautiful raw fruit and veggie shish kabobs.
2. For extra protein add marinated, firm tofu chunks, cubed cheddar or fresh mozzarella balls.
3. Stack onto plates and serve
